Jason Allen tulee olemaan Rajaritareiden ensi kesän ulkomaalaisvahvistus puolustuksen puolella. Jason tulee samasta yliopistosta, Hanover Collegesta, kuin jo aikaisemmin sopimuksen tehnyt Rajaritareiden ensi kesän pelinrakentaja Rick Webster. Jason pelasi Hanoverissa aloittavana tukimiehenä kaksi viimeistä pelikauttaan ja hän teki eniten taklauksia joukkueessaan viime syksynä (58 yksin + 60 avustusta) kymmenessä ottelussa ja edellisenä kautenakin hän ennätti tehdä niitä lähes saman määrän (46+65). Viime kaudella Jason valittiin joukkueensa arvokkaimmaksi pelaajaksi (MVP).
Seuraavassa vielä Jasonin vastaukset Jannen esittämiin kysymyksiin: Also, tell me about your career stats, awards, honors etc.: This year I was able to break the top 10 in number of career tackles (school), I think it is 300. I was named the Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player of the year in our conference. I was a first team All-Region North and Honorable Mention All-American by D3football.com. I have received the most outstanding linebacker the past two years as well as the team MVP this season. I led the team with 118 tackles this season. Name: Jason Allen Height: 5'11" (180 cm) Weight: 215 (97 kg) Date of birth: 02-05-1985
Born in: Martinsville, Indiana, but I have lived in Cincinnati, Ohio since I was about two years old. Tell us about the place you live: I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's a large city in south western Ohio. It's located on the Ohio river, which is not the cleanest of rivers. Our city is a huge football city. Parents usually start to get their kids playing football at a very early age, I think around 3rd-4th grade. We have two professional teams, Bengals (NFL) and Reds (MLB). Can you tell us about your family: When not at school, I live with my mother, Karen, and step-dad, Bob. I have three brothers and a step-brother, Mike 27 who is married to Summer and have a 2 year old daughter Payton, Joe 26 who is married to Allie and have a 5 month old daughter Chloe, Dusty 20. The two oldest own their own landscaping company, which is doing really well. I am the only one that ended up playing football. The other three decided that basketball was more their thing. My parents have recently adopted my 3 year old nephew, Riley. When did you start playing football? What was your first team: I started playing football when I was 12 years old. I think the name was the K of C Rebels. I played defensive and offensive line, I guess they thought I was a big kid. You have a big role in our team and a lot is expected, what do you think of that? I love to have pressure on me to perform. I think I am at my best when I am under pressure. It motivates me, as well as others to perform at their best. I feel honored to be able to continue playing for this team and that a lot is expected of me. What do you expect to bring to the team? I expect to bring knowledge, leadership, and some character to the team. I have been playing middle linebacker since high school. I will be able to bring things that I have learned from the past eight years to this team, and hopefully teach them to other players. Being a leader, both by action and verbally, is something that has been placed on me since high school. When the game time comes around, both my leadership and character will come into play. I expect to have a motivated team while we are at practice and game situations. What do you expect from your time in Finland, on and off the field? I expect to have a great time. On the field, I want everyone to work hard and be focused. This experience can be taken away from anyone at anytime. Going your hardest is needed and expected, it can be taken away in an instant. Off the field, I just wanna soak it all up. I have never left the States. I think this will be a great time to soak in the culture, as well as travel. I have read some feedback from previous players and I am hoping my experience can be as great as theirs. What did you know about Finland before starting this recruitment process? I didn't know much about Finland before this process. I have talked to some previous players and they all would go back in a heartbeat. I have heard that it is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly. I didn't know much about Finland before this process. Do you want to say something to the team in Finland? I hope that everyone takes things seriously during practice and game time. All I am asking for is to be focused during these times. I hope you are ready for some fun too. HAHA Have you heard the rumour that polar bears are loose on the streets here? Do you believe it? I haven't heard that. I don't believe that they are. Do you know from which country Santa Claus originates? I'm not to sure about this question either. But I do know that he has been very nice to me the past 22 years. HAHA |
